Aventurine is a form of cryptocrystalline quartz, sometimes referred to as chalcedony. It contains inclusions of small crystals that give this translucent stone a glistening effect.

Ancients dubbed aventurine the “comfort stone,” believing that it helped heal the heart by using the power of the earth to release emotional stress.

Aventurine has a hardness rating of 7.
